Mosaic
Vivian Romero was introduced to mosaic art by her father, Frank, who produced mosaic art pieces for their home in Venice, California. Several years after moving to Oakland, CA in 1990, Vivian took classes in mosaic art with Gina Dominguez at Piedmont Adult School. She started creating small, functional pieces and also took art classes during the summer at Laney College. After viewing beautiful mosaic art on local trash containers, she coordinated a similar project in her neighborhood, Adams Point, with Roberto Costa and Juan Lopez.
Vivian loves following the local art, public art and crafts scene in Oakland and beyond! She derives all of her ideas and inspiration for creating her pieces from viewing art, and hearing artists talk about their work.
